Kids Interior Design Trends 2019 – Dusk Blue is the Colour of the Month ⇒ Blue is one of the most universally favoured colours… it is nature’s colour for water and sky. Pop the word ‘baby’ in front of the colour and you have a specific shade of… yep, you guessed it, ‘Dusk Blue’– a pale tint of azure, one of the pastel colours. Most blues convey a sense of trust, loyalty, cleanliness and understanding.
This colour combo is made to calm, but, not in the put-you-to-bed kind of way. If you’re not into using yellows to accent the dusk blue, keep those windows uncovered and open! That’s the feeling we’re going for in this scheme anyway. Dusky blue is the colour of the hour, and it won’t make you feel blue at all.
Dusk blue is also the perfect colour to pop in a beach house. Or to at least have a beach-house themed decor. Kids love the beach and everything that comes with it, The sun, the sand, the seashells… The good part is that to pull off a beachy/surfing-themed bedroom is not the hardest task to do in the world. Mix it with white, beige and some yellow accents and your precious little one will feel like he has its own beach cottage. But, if you’re still struggling with it, Circu’s beloved Bun Van can help you to add that je ne sais quoi to it.
Dusk blue belongs to the pastels– a pale family of colours, usually described as “soothing”, “soft” or “near neutral.” The colour would, therefore, sit comfortably alongside other pastels such as pink, mauve etc. However you don’t have to just stick to a pastel palette, you can opt for brighter colours, earthier tones or go richer like this Dusk blue and burgundy pairing!
Kids are too fascinated by the great blue sky. Always imagining what’s out there behind those clouds. And aeroplanes play an important role in this fantasy too. They rip apart the sky at great speeds and look from above to world, always having the possibility of touching down in some deserted, heavenly-like islands with a huge treasure to be found.
