Benjamin Moore has just announced the new hue for 2018 Color of the Year, Caliente AF-290. Ellen O’Neil, the company Director of Strategic Design Intelligence, says “Caliente is the signature color of a modern architectural masterpiece; a lush carpet rolled out for a grand arrival; the assured backdrop for a book-lined library; a powerful first impression on a glossy front door. The eye can’t help but follow its bold strokes. Harness the vitality.”
Interior designer is buzzing over this hue. “Hot. Hot. Hot. I love a deeply saturated color whenever and wherever I can find one. This shade of red sets my soul on fire!” says interior designer Scot Meacham Wood about Benjamin Moore’s decision.
Contrary to popular belief, red is an incredibly versatile color when it’s used as an accent color or a part of a complementary palette. To prove the versatility of this color, Benjamin Moore showcased some spaces painted with it, like a mid-century modern room, a farmhouse, and a modern space. We don’t need to point out how stunning this color looks in any of this room, right?
The geometry of a modern home finds its playful side in lighthearted reds and pinks that bring minimalism to life.
The red color lifts the warm weathered woods and misty ocean gray and greens.
It can also bring the depth and energy to space and spicy up deep grays with life.
Show confidence with Caliente AF-290 by having your entranced painted with personality.
The company also released a palette of 23 additional hues that they believe will enlight any room with depth and energy.
